Top Ten Thursday #3 on Tuesday

Finally it’s back. I know it’s been a while. And I know it’s not Thursday (although I wish it was). I decided to change from Thursday to Tuesdays because I want to start doing Running With Spoon’s Thinking Out Loud Thursdays. Well let’s get on with it!

1. After today I have two days until my vacation starts!!!! And it lasts all the way until January 2nd! What am I gonna do with myself? I see myself becoming a lazy running bum in my future! Sounds good to me!

image2. It’s been so cold at work! Then again it’s always cold there. Colder than outside. I swear they have the air conditioning on! So I’ve had to pull out my wrist warmers my mom made me last year. She’s a knitting fiend lol!

image3. Orly’s “You’re Blushing” nail polish. It’s a mix between gray & lavender. I like it ok. Just not my fav.

image4. ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas! I will watch Christmas shows over and over and over as long as they’re on TV. I even DVR’d National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation so I could do just that! My sister does the same thing. Watching Christmas moves we’ve watched 500 times before never gets old.

5. My massage I’m getting this afternoon!. A massage after a race is priceless! Although sometimes painful 🙂 But mostly priceless. I get one every three weeks. That’s what I do for myself. I don’t get my nails done or go shopping a lot. I’ve been seeing the most amazing woman for my massages for the past three years. She can find knots or issues before they get bad enough for me to feel them.

6. GU gels in Salted Caramel. I love GUI’s seasonal flavors and this has to be my new favorite. I wish they had them all year round!

7. My new Brook’s Versatile shorts. They worked great on my race last Sunday! No chaffing even with the rain! The only thing I can say I missed in my tempo shorts was the little key pocket they have. The Brook’s shorts don’t have one. They had pockets in the front kinda like jeans, but I was afraid it would fall out.

8. All the holiday baking recipes on Pinterest. Where do people find all the time to bake all these things?? The better question is, what do they do with all of them? When I was little my mom used to bake all kinds of goodies and give them away as gifts. But that’s my problem. I have to taste everything and “taste” it more than once then I have trouble giving them away. I have no self control if there is something sweet in the house. Then I gotta run more, which makes you more hungry. Ugh. It’s an endless cycle! And I can’t stop pinning all these things I want to eat…

9. Trader Joe’s Cocoa Drizzled Kettle Korn. This is good and bad cause I could sit there and eat the whole bag before I even noticed! I ate a little over half after my race Sunday! I’m a sucker for kettle korn but with chocolate – ugh. Walmart had flavored kettle korn last year with white & dark chocolate but I can’t find it this year. I thought this would be a Christmas without chocolate kettle korn until I went to TJ’s Saturday!

10. My new Christmas wreath my mom made me. I can’t wait to go get it to put it on my front door!

Top Ten Thursday #2

Happy Thursday!  How ecstatic are you that the holidays are here?  I love this time of year.  Don’t get me wrong I miss my extra hours of sunlight for running outside and I don’t enjoy the extra time I’m forced to spend on the treadmill.  But I love the colder weather and the leaves turning AND the holidays!  Are you sick of pumpkin yet?  Nope?  Me either!  I don’t think I could get sick of it.

Here’s my top ten fav’s of the week!

1.  The count down is on!  6 work days until vacation and I have a whole week off and then it’s Turkey Day!!

2.  My Orly Fowl Play nail polish!  For some reason I tend to be on a purple streak lately.  But I’m not necessarily a “purple” girl…  I also tend to be leaning towards darker polish.  I think after a while you get tired of pinks or neutrals.

3. IHOP’s cinnastack pancakes from last weekend were absolutely delicious.  I think I could eat them every day but I’d have to up my mileage…

4.  Oatmeal with apple or strawberries & sunflower seed butter!  I swear I could eat oatmeal every day and not get sick of it!

10837624996_59caf20068_b5.  Big Bang Theory.  Sheldon always makes me laugh.  I swear I could watch reruns all day long.  I’m loving the new episodes though!!

6.  My sister.  Did I already say how proud I am of her? 🙂

7.  My Samsung S4 camera!  I found myself using the camera on my phone more than my actual camera this weekend.  The pictures always come out so good.  But what does that say about my current camera?  That may be an idea for Santa.

8.  BIC bands.  I have long hair that has a mind of it’s own.  Especially when I run.  These are the only things that will keep my hair in place.  The best thing: each month they donate some from the sale of each band to a different charity!  The sparkle ones are my favorite.  I like to be a little blinged out when I run. 🙂

9.  Christmas in the stores already!?  I was in Wal-mart last week and it hit me how much it finally feels like the holidays.  They had Christmas music playing, food and decorations every where.  I know it’s crazy they have it out so early and I feel like it takes some away from Thanksgiving.  But I do love me some Christmas.  I’m one of those crazy people who could listen to Christmas music everyday starting November 1st!

10.  These beautiful fall leaves.  Although they’re almost all fallen off now.  I love running in the fall!

Top Ten Thursday – numero uno!

I decided to create a weekly post of my top ten things of the week.  I realize doing this in kinda the middle of the week could cause some issues since the week wouldn’t be over yet, but we’ll see how it goes 🙂

1.  My Uggs!  This is one reason why I’m happy cold weather is here.  I get to wear “slippers” around all day long.   I can’t wait to get another pair!

2.  Maybelline Color Show Lavender Lustre nail polish.  I usually change my polish every week.  I feel like no polish is just plain boring.

3. Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Granola.  I could eat the whole box.  Well pretty much anything pumpkin!

4. My new running shoes – Saucony Progrid Guide 6.  My first time trying the 6’s.  I love LOVE getting new running shoes!  Who doesn’t?10725180806_f869891f8b_b 10725091195_30d2c1bbdf_b

5. Single Serving Power Cookie from Powercakes. These things seem to be the best pre-run breakfast for my long runs.  They are packed with so much energy!  I added a scoop of protein powder, little bit of water, and used raisins instead.  Top it with some nut butter and it’s sooo good.  It’s even better with some pumpkin butter on top of that!

6. My Samsung Galaxy Tablet to get me through those longer treadmill runs.  I don’t think I would I make it without my tablet and Bluetooth headphones.  Music can only get you but so far!  I just zone out and I’m good for a while.  Right now I’m working on Season 4 of Ugly Betty!


7.  Lunch with a great friend!  What’s better than food and girl time?

8. Zumba!  I can’t get enough of my Thursday night Athletic Zumba class!

9.  My Nathan Hydration pack!  I wear this on anything 13 miles or longer.  I love it!  It’s so much easier to drink than using a fuel belt!  Another plus is it doesn’t chaff like my lovely fuel belt.

10691866455_530f83f6d0_b10. My new Runner’s World Cookbook!  So excited about this one!  I just got it so I haven’t made any of the recipes in it but I can’t wait to start.  I could stare at the pages for hours….  Did I mention I like food?
